瓦(Wa) (Japanese steamboat @ cineleisure)

Hello guys i am back for another food post! (yay me!) This time i will be doing on the restaurant called 瓦(Wa). So... Some background info first. It is located @ cineleisure orchard road, fourth storey if i am not wrong?  ( in case you have not been there, it will be nearer if you alight at somerset MRT, rather than orchard MRT station.) I am not very sure about the price, but it should be around $15 or $16++ for lunch (Mon-Thurs) and $19++ for dinner. However, there will be extra charges if you want other soup base like Kimchi, Suki Yaki, Miso,( most will choose another soup base cause the normal one taste quite bland :( But you can choose to have the steamboat or just other normal Japanese food. They also do have a 30% charge if there is any wastage of food there and they will emphasize to you. Last, they will have a one hour ordering time for you to order your food.
Wa's zen-like environment, in stark contrast with its misery dining experience provided for the buff

Okay! Back to the review! Personally i find that the base they gave for free really does not taste very nice, i mean it is quite tasteless. However the Suki Yaki soup base is really nice! Since its like buffet style, we are able to order as much meat as we want, so on the first ordering, we order quite little as we want to see how big is the portion that will be given since we did not want to pay the extra amount for food wastage. However, the meat was really nice after we put them in the soup, so when we ordered the second time( Which is our last order) we order alot of meat( chicken, pork and beef) and still other things like vegetables, meatballs, tofu etc. But there is one thing that i really dislike is that if you opt for one portion of the meatballs or whatever balls or tofu, the only give you ONE PIECE!! I was like, HELLO~! THATS TOO LITTLE!. And for the veg, it is the same! They will only give you a few pathetic pieces! But i can say the place is really empty and we went at around 6+? Which is dinner time for many people, but we are the only customer and when we left, there are like only 3 tables occupied? I dont know is it because we went on a weekday so there are lesser people, or there is a problem with their food or service.
So, since we are the only customer, they remove our empty plates and refilled our greentea (you need to top up $2 for unlimited refill of greentea) really fast! So after all the cost that are added, we paid like around $25/ person. Which i find quite reasonable for unlimited supply of meat within an hour? But they should really change their menu and tell customers the hidden cost for the extra soup base what not so that people will not end up paying more than what they expect.

Hope my review did help you in some way! See you next time!♥

Arirang Korean Restaurant (Bugis)(阿里郎)

Hey guys! I am back for another food post! :D Today will be writing on the Korean BBQ at Bugis. A little info on the restaurant. The price for the BBQ for lunch is around $16++? And for dinner is around $19++. There is not only Korean BBQ , but you can also order ala-cart food from the menu.

The reason why i actually go for this korean bbq is because i can't find the famous steamboat at bugis! So my friends and I just walk around and we saw this shop, and it is not too expensive. When you walk in to the store, they will actually ask what you want to eat, BBQ or ala cart food. If you ask for BBQ, they will give you a menu that have side-dish, meat, drinks, dessert, and others for you to write the quantity you want. After that you can just pass it back to the waitress and wait for your food to be served! :D My friends and I ordered two tea and one sour plum and all i can say is the tea is still okay although its a little diluted, but the sour plum really taste horrible! It taste like some Chinese medicine. However, their spicy chicken n pork taste really nice! They marinated it just nice and the taste is not too light nor is it too spicy or salty. Its good to order lettuce and eat it with the meat! Oh and they will actually provide you with side dish like kimchi, some potates? long beans and beansprout. Sadly i did not get to try their dessert as i think is not a daily thing they provide. :( The store is very empty and there is no one there when we went! Maybe it is because we went at around 2+ 3? When its already not lunch time. Its good in a way that it is pretty quiet and we can have all the space to ourself! :D

Hope my review did help you in some way! See you next time!♥

Chiso Zanmai~ (Japanese Buffet)

Some background information for readers that have not heard about this place. Chiso Zanmai is a Japanese buffet restaurant located at #02-17 Central @ Clarke Quey. Their prices for lunch are pretty acceptable ranging from $14.90++ to $19.90++( Weekends & PH). But the prices for dinner are much higher ranging from $24.90++ to $29.90++. You have to pay extra for free flow of drinks.

Okay now the review! :D My friend and I wanted to have Japanese buffet, but we are finding those that are not very expensive yet have alot of variety. So we actually google about cheap Japanese Buffet, I found Chiso Zanmai and the picture of their food looks really nice and people say that their tempura is really awesome and it seems to have alot of variety, so we decided to go there. When we went there, the restaurant atmosphere is really good and if you are seated near the window, the scenery there is really awesome. However, when we look around the variety of food they have is really limited! Since others review that the tempura is nice, we went to take that first, but the tempura is so cool and is really does not taste nice. (Really disappointing) Of course we tried almost everything there, and i can't say that everything there is so so, as their greentea tofu, pastry and ice cream are really very nice. I can say that their Sushi taste very common and not much variety, but they keep replenishing the Sashimi, although it has been cut into really big pieces. But i find that it is really not worth $37++ (amount that i paid) for the variety and food quality i should get if i am paying this price.

Not recommended if you are finding good Japanese buffet.
However, if you want to have Japanese Buffet but does not want to pay alot, you can try this, but go at lunchtime on weekdays.

Hope my review did help you in some way! See you next time!♥
